Westlink Logistics Report Project Shipment from China to Australia

Westlink Logistics in Australia are pleased to report the successful completion of a recent import project from Tianjin in China to the Barry Beach Marine Terminal (BBMT) in Victoria.

The cargo consisted of mobile coal conveyor system components and accessories for the AGL Loy Yang Power Plant Project. Westlink's scope of work included: Project Management; Operational Supervision & Coordination; Ocean Freight; Cranage; Transportation to Site; and Customs & Quarantine Clearance.

The project required Westlink Logistics to undertake extensive planning to safely handle the loading and discharging of the cargo as well as definitive route surveys to ensure the secure delivery of the large modularised steel components including a 42m / 115tn piece which required escorts on the Victoria roads for delivery to the site.

The Westlink Team commented that the highlights of this project included "... the front-end engineering design we inputted to maximise module envelopes and pre-assembly that in turn minimised the project's on-site construction and commissioning costs. Also, this project saw only the 2nd multipurpose vessel ever to call at BBMT due to challenging pilotage, draft and LOA restrictions."

Another job successfully and safely handled by Westlink Logistics! Please click below for photos of the cargo and operations.
