GRUBER Logistics (PAO) in Germany have again successfully delivered a total of 22 heavy packages from Cologne and Duisburg to Hamburg. The project consisted of wooden boxes containing rollers, each one weighing 76tn and with dimensions of 6.54 x 2.08 x 2.52m.
Executive Support Manager at GRUBER, Ramona Duckstein explains the operations; "As the shipment was very urgent, we could not afford to wait for road permits which could take up to 4-6 weeks, so we decided to send the rollers to Hamburg by barge (as pictured in the gallery below). However, due to a hot and dry summer in Germany, the low tide of the Rhine River was a challenge. However, all packages arrived in Hamburg on time and were loaded onto MV 'Qian Kun' and shipped to Manila in the Philippines."
The rollers and parts are to be used for a roller press for a cement mill and GRUBER's customer was very happy with the results.
