Blue Bell Shipping Complete Breakbulk Shipment from Hamriyah

Blue Bell Shipping, Project Cargo Network Members from Iraq, recently completed a breakbulk shipment from Hamriyah, UAE.

The cargo travelled from Hamriyah to Atakas Port in Turkiye, before being moved onto an onshore, out-of-gauge transport to the project site in North Iraq.

This shipment was critical to the project due to its installation sequence, however, congestion at the major ports would likely result in losing many days waiting for the cargo to arrive.

To mitigate this risk of port congestion, Blue Bell Shipping chartered a multi-purpose vessel from Hamriyah to Atakas Port to enable a faster transit with less berth waiting.

"The cargo included plant electrical rooms and prefabricated buildings with weights of up to 72 MT."

The road transit from Turkey to Iraq required a route survey to be conducted beforehand, as a few units were nearly five-meters high and over five-meters wide, which always poses a challenge for long transits.
