Bibby International Logistics in the UK has had an exciting yet challenging few months as explained by General Manager, Tim McFarland.

"We have been working very closely with a VIP client, who imports electronic equipment, to develop and implement a bespoke 'all in' door-to-door service to enhance and expedite the transit process from collection in the Far East through to the final point of delivery in the UK. This may seem pretty straightforward, however, once the goods arrive in the UK, we have just 24 hours to transport the goods to our warehouse, de-van each 40' high cube container, breakdown the pallet formations and rework each pallet in to a mixed line pick to meet the client's exact demands for this high specification job. Once this stage has been completed, the transport to the clients designated final delivery point is undertaken. In total, this has to be completed within 48 hours of the container being available at the port, which leaves very little margin for error."

"So far, this implementation has been very successful with our client delighted with the way we have approached the project and identified the most efficient and cost-effective measures in order to meet the tight timeframe without being detrimental to the exact requirements."
